Very confidently painting at the top..after this picture was taken, we talked about
the term,.."safety first" 

Stone wall is beginning to take shape after 5 fairly easy steps. Primer, grout tone,
 outline of shape, highlights, and shadows.

Stars placed in the mural by Star Mural Ambassadors. It was a good week.
Only lost one day due to weather. Some prior commitments had
 5 of the Youth needing to be at another job,..but to return next week.
Everyone is satisfied with the progress and starting to see the mural take shape.
Next week we will start adding dimensions to the archways and then we will take off top layer of scaffolding, and move onto
the details of the land and Red Sea, Camels, horses and Palm Trees.
Once again, Mr. Nidal is proving to be invaluable to the project. Greg Phillips will be joining the team on
April 20th. Then a two week push to the end.

Day 11: Saturn gets her rings and the arch template goes to work

After snapping a line, we line up the bottom of the template to start
our arches.

  Day 11 is complete.

Day 10: Rains in Az Zarqa, An arch template complete.

  We were not able to spend too much time at the wall. Temp was in the Low 70's, windy and a good rain fell. With the invaluable assistance of Mr. Nidal, we were able to locate quickly some heavy cardboard and start our template.    This will be the quickest way to draw in the 7 arches. The hills of Az Zarqa across the valley during weather like today look so far, distant and beautiful. Clouds move over the land and the light that punches through creeps across the topography of the hills and valleys. Moom Taz...Excellent! 

While it rained outside, the template was drawn and taped.

Day 9: Stars

On top of the world!

Scaffolding at rest and a lonely planet

Beginning to fill the sky with stars

At days end, A night sky filled with glowing stars.  Tomorrow,
planets and more glow to upper stars.

Day 7: More Priming and a bit of Geography

The morning began by completing the scaffolding and
hauling the running boards.

Using the level to create a grid for transferring the image of Earth

While 1/2 of the team of Zarqa Mural Ambassadors worked on the earth, the
other 1/2 set the stage for the arches by completing the priming.
Mr. Nidal is super at supervising!

Grid is complete!  Break time!

After lunch, a world map is used to begin shaping in the geography, and
roughly adding in land and the oceans by following grid lines as a guide.

A watchful eye helps guide in the Mediterranean Sea.

After finishing priming, some of the other half of the ZMA's
got to fill in the the continents.

At end of day 7, Scott Sadler, Mr. Nidal, Zein Majali and I concluded it was
a very productive day. Tomorrow we begin maneuvering around the
scaffolding to draw in arch openings. Second coat
of deep space blue,..and arch tops with yarn.
