Day 7: More Priming and a bit of Geography

The morning began by completing the scaffolding and
hauling the running boards.

Using the level to create a grid for transferring the image of Earth

While 1/2 of the team of Zarqa Mural Ambassadors worked on the earth, the
other 1/2 set the stage for the arches by completing the priming.
Mr. Nidal is super at supervising!

Grid is complete!  Break time!

After lunch, a world map is used to begin shaping in the geography, and
roughly adding in land and the oceans by following grid lines as a guide.

A watchful eye helps guide in the Mediterranean Sea.

Filling in the Indian Ocean

 Late afternoon break time!

Beginning to paint in land

After finishing priming, some of the other half of the ZMA's
got to fill in the the continents.

At end of day 7, Scott Sadler, Mr. Nidal, Zein Majali and I concluded it was
a very productive day. Tomorrow we begin maneuvering around the
scaffolding to draw in arch openings. Second coat
of deep space blue,..and arch tops with yarn.

Day 6: Lunchbreak and filling in deep space

The Zarqa Mural Project "go-to-right-hand-man"
Mr. Scott Sadler, whom without his instrumentality,
Londonberry Mural Press would not have been introduced to JRF.
"Hook a brother up!"

Scott and I were best pals in High School, and had not seen each
other in 19 years. We had to come all
the way to Jordan to see each other again~

Lunch break with a friend.

The Royal village of Zarqa has a wonderful design. This is

Day 5: The much anticipated scissor lift arrives!

help of Nidal, our faithful and most helpful driver,
the scissor lift was unloaded and secured at the mural site.

Day 5: Lunch Break!

Lunch and Friends.

After Lunch, it was back to work.

Day 5: 28/3/2011 Where sky meets mural

We were expecting scaffolding, it was delayed, yet, the show must go on!
so we found a couple ladders and carried on. I am impressed with
the hard working young women and men as they tackled this
difficult part of the job with great cheer and even mindedness!

The Wall:  Its size seems daunting, but we counter that by using a
                                                                a cool blue tinted primer.

Day 4: 27/3/2011: The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step...priming!

We Began this morning by putting down plastic.

The first Step!  Primer to wall, rolled  with small rollers to
get deep into the textured wall.

Nadal, our good friend and Driver brought us Chai,  water and
bread to  snack on during our breaks.

From the top of the Royal Village of Zarqa, you can see out primed blue wall.
